CHECKLIST OF ITEMS TO BRING FOR YOUR TAX APPOINTMENT
1. ALL copies
of ALL of your W-2s.
2. Statements from any States that
issued you a tax refund last year or sent you a bill for any additional taxes.
3. All
IRS Form 1099 (or substitute) Statements showing interest, dividends and other
income. Remember, the IRS gets copies of
these statements directly from the issuer and we will eventually have to file
an amended tax return if any items are omitted from your original tax return.
4. Unemployment Compensation Statements, if any.
5. Brokerage Statements showing any stock or bond
sales, dividends and distributions.
6 6. IRS Form
K-1 and any information you received from any Partnership, LLC or Subchapter-S Corporation in which you own or owned an interest.
7. Escrow Statements (HUD-1) IF you re-financed
your home or second mortgage.
8. IRS Form 1098 (or substitute) Statements plus
Bank/Mortgage Company Statement(s) showing interest and property tax paid.
9. Interest on student loans.
10. 1098T and a list of any other college
expenses, especially if you are making withdrawals from an IRA to pay for the
expenses.
11. Child Care expenses for working
couples or individuals. The name,
address, SS# or EIN of the person or business performing the child care service
is required.
12. Office-in-Home expenses have been
expanded. NEEDED: The total square footage of your residence
and the square footage of space devoted to office use.
13. A signed copy of the enclosed 2013
Tax Return Engagement Letter (enclosed).
